Job Description

Product Owner

Watermark is looking for a Product Owner focused on working within the product delivery cycle to maximize the value we deliver based on our product vision. You will follow the agile software development process and work directly with a development team. 


Responsibilities 

  • Develop a deep understanding of the user problems being solved and the vision for the product

  • Turn problems and needs from users into workable epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria; liaison with stakeholders to ensure clarity of user needs

  • Participate in and conduct discovery and backlog grooming with the development team ensuring creativity and ownership of the team

  • Develop and maintain clearly prioritized backlogs that maximize value and reflect alignment with the greater product vision, strategy, and other key priority drivers 

  • Work with cross-functional partners -- e.g. UX designer, architects, software developers throughout the development cycle to create winning solutions to problems and perform final story acceptance

  • Work with the development team to investigate and triage defects and prioritize resolution

  • Act as the liaison between stakeholders and other teams to ensure progress is well communicated before, during, and after development

  • Develop, track, and report on key metrics that inform product success and make informed decisions based on data to build a better product

Required Skills and Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree 

  • 1-2 years work experience in software development, implementation, or support 

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage competing priorities

  • Ability to work in a changing, dynamic environment 

  • Ability to work cooperatively across teams and departments

  • Excellent communicator interpersonally, within a team, and organizationally

  • Strong attention to accuracy and detail, while being results oriented 

  • Preferred experience working as part of the Agile software development team

  • Preferred Scrum Product Owner certification
