DevOps Engineer

The DevOps Engineer will work as part of the Infrastructure Engineering team supporting multiple AWS environments globally. The DevOps Engineer's responsibilities include but are not limited to: automation, build, package, dependency management, deployment, tools and monitoring, infrastructure architecture design, and production support including incident and problem management.
The ideal candidate sees today's technology infrastructure as nothing more than code, managed in an SCM, enabling continuous integration, test driven development, to ensure seamless automation and repeatability.

Responsibilities:
Mentor global teams of engineers in growing their knowledge and skillset
Help drive initiatives for upgrading and scaling our systems to improve availability, reliability, and performance
Collaborate with technical leads to integrate an end-to-end design that's well documented
Write scripts to automate the provisioning and maintenance of systems in a distributed, virtualized infrastructure
Work in an agile development environment, collaborating with Application Development and Architecture teams to implement and evolve solutions for a wide array of challenging projects
Develop solutions for technology, process, people, and practices for build and release management, application lifecycle changes, operation service delivery and support using the technologies mentioned above
Take an active role in developing the long-range highly available technical infrastructure and architecture plans for both on-premises and cloud (AWS) infrastructure
Experiment with new technologies to optimize the reliability and performance of our software and hardware infrastructure
Design and implement proactive monitoring to ensure health, performance, reliability, and security of our production and staging environments
Plan automated backups and disaster recovery/failover configurations
Troubleshoot and debug web and application servers for system and application issues
Produce high quality installation and configuration documents
Participate in a Provide 24x7 on call rotation support for all supported technologies and be available in the rare case of a off-hours problem
Requirements:
B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or a related field
At least one year of experience working as DevOps Engineer
At least one year of experience working with AWS cloud computing
Proficient with Unix/Linux terminal and Powershell console
Experience with DevOps toolchains such as Jenkins and Gitlab-CI
Experience with version control system Git and Gitlab Registry
Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Elixir, etc.
Knowledge of both Linux and Windows operating systems
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Excellent verbal/written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills to interact professionally and courteously with end-users and co-workers
Passion for learning new information and technologies
Plus:
Certified AWS Architect
Experience with distributed applications using Docker or Kubernetes
Experience with Terraform/Ansible or other configuration management tools
Experience with web servers (e.g. IIS, NginX, or Apache)
Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB or MSSQL Server)
