Full-Stack Web Engineer

Engineering | San Francisco, CA

Job Description

About Us:

Wanelo (from Want, Need, Love) is a universal social store curated by users.
Our goals are ambitious:
-  Build the next generation of shopping.
-  Enable self-expression through greater access to style products that capture and express human creativity from all makers, big and small, all over the world.
-  Empower any maker to find her audience and to sell goods in the most efficient and frictionless manner.
This is a unique time to join us. We have more than 1,000,000 monthly unique visitors, 200,000+ registered users, 80,000 Facebook fans. We are funded by a power-house team of tier-1 investors (First Round Capital (Josh Kopelman), Floodgate (Mike Maples), Naval Ravikant of AngelList and others). With all this in place, we are just putting together the core technical team that will own and define our tech stack and our development process. In other words, we are looking for engineers who are looking to have huge impact at an early startup.
We are a people-first company. Rather than starting with specific tasks, we are looking for incredible people first with the goal of giving these people enormous freedom to plug in and create their own path in the company.
We're putting together a hot team:
What is a "hot" team, you ask? It's a team of exuberantly-confident individuals who come together to collaborate on solving an overwhelmingly-challenging task and work together in an environment of excitement, chaos and joy, stretching their limits, exploring, making mistakes and thinking big - all resulting in a peak experience.
About you:
We are looking for full-stack engineers whose goal is to have a huge impact at a promising, ambitious early startup. You will have autonomy and freedom. You will be the driver (not the passenger) of your own destiny and your goals for our startup. You will be passionate about what we’re building. You will choose when and how you will get your work done. We are a Java shop, but we are open to discussing changes to our environment and tech stack
