Position Overview: Under the Prevention Specialist, assist in the implementation of Alcohol and Other Drug. Prevention Services for youth and families in the Watts/Willowbrook Communties


  • Recruitment of program youth and adult participants
  • Community outreach
  • Assistance in community mobilization efforts under the supervision of the Prevention Specialist
  • Planning and supervision of ongoing youth recreation and or social activities
  • Administer Participant Surveys and collect other related process data for the Program Evaluator
  • Enter data into CalOms and assist with record keeping and office coverage

  Required Background and Skills:


  • Associates degree in related area or the equivalent combination of relevant education and experience


  • 2 years of experience of providing and coordinating AOD Prevention Services for youth ages 7-18

Technology Skills: 

  • Computer literacy

Skills and Abilities: 

  • Able to communicate clearly and document effectively
  • Ability to follow instructions for any job-related activities or social events
  • Must be able to work effectively with people from all walks of life with compassion, respect and dignity

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Record keeping is a plus
