Property Services Specialist

The Property Services Specialist will oversee all leasing, reporting and compliance for all facilities. Manages and directs the daily activities of the leasing operations in accordance with organization and funder policies and standards. Develops and implements short and long range plans to take advantage of business opportunities and to ensure maintenance of property values.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitors lease expirations and proactively assures timely renewals
  • Negotiates leases and ensures funder lease requirements are met for all facilities
  • Identifies new facilities for lease or purchase
  • Maintains and obtains facility licenses, permits, CUP and certifications for needed properties
  • Retains files on property plans, required construction updates or upgrades, up to date records for all county and state inspections
  • Coordinates with Accounting for any property tax exemptions
  • Closely collaborate with the Chief of Operations to ensure risk managements strategies are aligned
  • Communicates with programs regarding public works or development adjacent to leased or purchased property and the impact to corresponding program
  • Develop and maintain strategic alliances with internal and external business partners, including landlords, property managers and brokers

Required Background and Skills:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Experience:

  • Three years-experience in facility/property maintenance, contracts and project management
  •  Background in working with landlords, vendors and program managers

Additional Skills Required to Perform this Position:

  • Ability to perform under circumstances of possible emotional stress and conflict, dealing with un-cooperative clients
  • Ability to work a regular schedule provided by your direct supervisor
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, with and without reasonable accommodation including meeting qualitative and quantitative productivity standards
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
