Program Coordinator- (R.I.S.E. OC)

We provide a variety of social services to Los Angeles area communities such as Head Start programs, Upward Bound college prep programs, veterans’ services, homeless shelters, low-income housing program as well as drug and alcohol rehabilitation. Responsibilities:

The Program Coordinator is responsible for providing oversight to a team, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the program. The ability to supervise a team, manage multiple projects, and work collaboratively with community partners are essential to the success of the right candidate.

  • Work in conjunction with the case manager, advocate and Administrative Assistant to identify program objectives, with clear goals for meeting or exceeding program requirements
  • Must be able to work strategically with other VOALA programs and staff, as well as partner providers in the community to ensure the optimal outcome of outreach efforts
  • Maintains required, records, reports and statistics for administrative, quality assurance, safety and control purposes
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations to senior management for program changes and improvements
  • Works with Program Director to implement new projects and procedures to ensure program performance is exceeding expectations
  • Ensure all staff members receive orientation and appropriate training in accordance with organizational standards
  • Will be available 24/7 for crisis de-escalation as needed (through an on-call system)

Requirements:

  • Must have MSW or Master’s in related field or 5 years’ experience in related field
  • Must have 1 year of experience working with trafficking survivors
  • Must have a strong understanding of child abuse issues, sexual exploitation, and trauma informed care
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to helping others reach their full potential
  • Must be flexible and willing to work weekends/evenings as necessary
  • Must be flexible, possess the ability to take direction and enjoy working both independently and autonomously when necessary.
  • Excellent organizational and motivational skills as well as the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once with attention to detail; and adapt to change as needed
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and a genuine desire to model and facilitate productive communication in the workplace
  • Demonstrates ability of excellent computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office, email and the internet

Additional Requirements

  • Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Must be extremely self-motivated, a self-starter and a problem solver
  • Managing multiple projects
  • Working collaboratively with community partners
  • Valid California driver's license and dependable transportation with adequate insurance
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred)
  • Experience in working with crisis intervention (preferred)
  • Experience working with evidence based practices (preferred)
