Volunteers of America of Greater Los Angeles is a large, national not-for-profit organization founded in 1896. We provide a variety of social services to Los Angeles area communities such as Head Start programs, Upward Bound college prep programs, veterans’ services, homeless shelters, low-income housing program as well as drug and alcohol rehabilitation. Responsibilities:
- Work in conjunction with the Program manager, Payee Benefits Specialists to identify program objectives, with clear goals for meeting or exceeding program requirements
- Meet with program staff regularly to provide supervision and support
- Maintain required records, reports and statistics for administrative, quality assurance, safety and control purposes
- Evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations to senior management for program changes and improvements
- Monitor program compliance to funding sources regulations as well as internal policies and procedures
- Train, coach, manage Payee Services team on program requirements and tools and methods to meet those requirements
- Collaborate with community partners for services and opportunities to program participants
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in social work, social services, public administration, public health or related field
- Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Knowledge of the Payee Services Program
- Demonstrated skills working with participants from various backgrounds, veterans, people in recovery and/or homeless individuals
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Effective written and oral communications skills
- Ability to establish and maintain strong partnerships with employers and community contacts
Preferred Skills:
- Valid California driver's license and dependable transportation with adequate insurance
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
- Preferred experience with EGuardianship or other Rep Payee programs
