Program Coordinator (Battle Buddy Bridge - OC)

Volunteers of America of Greater Los Angeles is a large, national not-for-profit organization founded in 1896. We provide a variety of social services to Los Angeles area communities such as Head Start programs, Upward Bound college prep programs, veterans’ services, homeless shelters, low-income housing program as well as drug and alcohol rehabilitation. Responsibilities:

  • Address intake and assessments, services planning, service delivery and goal attainment

  • Provide training, supervision and problem-solving for difficult cases

  • Adhere to grant objectives by providing information to program managers highlighting progress to reaching goals.

  • Manage day-to-day operations of case managers' participant goals, objective and treatment plans; maintains a limited caseload

  • Conducts weekly case conferencing and monthly case files audits to assure participant records are complete and accurate

  • Monitor program compliance to VOALA policies and required procedures; maintains documentation of all program procedures.

  • Provide quality peer services to veterans

  • Coordinate outreach and collaboration efforts with community partners and colleges veteran resource centers

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university preferred

  • At least 2 years of experience working with veterans/active duty, people in recovery and/ or homelessness individuals

  • Prior experience as a supervisor or team leader managing (5) or more individuals with diverse backgrounds

  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Word and Excel as well as Internet use

  • Must be able to pass a background check

  • Valid California driver’s license, insurance and reliable transportation

  • Effective written and oral communications skills

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work with people from various backgrounds and/or limited English capabilities

  • Experience in event planning/community engagement

  • Knowledge about Orange County resources
