JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE

Provides data entry in support of health area.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitoring health records and reports;
  • Checking and reviewing data for completion and conformance with established regulations and procedures;
  • Compiling information for records and reports;
  • Gathering data used for statistical reports, and more.

Program Data Entry:

  • Entering health area data when coordinated, i.e. immunizations, insurance, medical home, dental home, physicals, dentals, referrals, etc.
  • Monitors database for data quality and corrects inconsistencies.
  • Running reports for health and Program Improvement report (PIR) for monitoring.  Maintains current data, health records, health plans and medication treatment assessments up to date and ensures confidentiality
  • Travels to sites, community agencies, conferences, trainings as required
  • Collaborate effectively with others in a multidisciplinary approach and encourages a team environment
  • Does health screenings and does home visits if necessary
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance, background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications
  • Must have access to an automobile with insurance coverage and a valid California driver’s license.

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proof at the time of hire
    • TB clearance within 6 months prior
    • Annual Influenza vaccination (between Aug 1 – Dec 1)
    • Pertussis (whooping cough) and measles immunization
  • Health screening within 6 months prior to hire date
  • Requires ability to interact with children in a busy environment including, but not limited to:
    • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Frequently kneel and squat
    • Ability to move quickly

EDUCATION:

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 2 years of general office administration, data processing, business administration or related field experience.

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Must be skilled in organization and use of records and files;  
  • Must be well versed in spelling, grammar, punctuation and sentence structure.

TECHNOLOGY SKILLS:

  • Must be fully proficient in MS Office computer applications (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and other general office procedures.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform under circumstances of possible emotional stress and conflict, dealing with un-cooperative clients.
  • Ability to work a regular schedule provided by your direct supervisor
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, with and without reasonable accommodation including meeting qualitative and quantitative productivity standards
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.

INTERPERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Intermediate decision-making in the recommendation of training and /or referral to address assessed needs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Medical Assistant training.
  • Demonstrated teaching or training skills.
  • CAIR database and ChildPlus database.
  • Working knowledge of local community resources.
  • Ability to translate theory and professional training into practical solutions.
