The SSVF Outreach specialist provides key linkages to veteran households who require services. The following duties may be handled in conjunction with Veteran's Administration staff, when applicable.


The SSVF Outreach Specialist Case Manager responsibilities are summarized as:

  • Develop emergency support systems to meet client needs by identifying and coordinating a variety of available services necessary to maintain independent living, and when possible, self-sufficiency and household stabilization
  • Conducts crisis intervention as necessary
  • Screens and evaluates veteran households for eligibility for SSVF services
  • Maintain and builds partnerships and coalitions with other community and government agencies
  • Reach out to low-income veteran households throughout Orange County and surrounding communities
  • Participates and assists with outreach events


  • 1 - 3 years experience working with veterans, people in recovery and/or homeless individuals
  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • Valid California driver's license, insurance and reliable transportation preferred
  • Ability and desire to work with people from various backgrounds and/or limited English capabilities

Additional Requirements:

  • U.S. Veteran strongly preferred
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
