Six (6) month co-ed program offering substance abuse disorder/co-occurring mental health issues treatment for those who are at risk for HIV or HIV positive, LGBT, and ex-offenders with wrap-around services including assessments, individual counseling, group counseling, treatment planning, case management & referrals, and mental health therapy as needed. We assist at risk and/or HIV positive clients in achieving and maintaining sobriety thru evidence-based services; linkage with medical care and services for optimal health, case management, discharge planning and aftercare are strongly encouraged for continued support.


Under the clinical supervision of the Clinical Director, this position will:

  • Conduct patients screening, medical intake, orientation, and assessment functions necessary to complete admission and screen for continuing stay criteria based on ASAM criteria and DSM 5 to assess medical necessity and diagnosis
  • Design and implement individual treatment plan for each patient based upon needs assessment at intake
  • Review individualized treatment plans
  • Conduct individual, group, and didactic group sessions as needed
  • Case management and referral, clinical reviews and weekly quality assurance and utilization review
  • Attends staff meeting, case conferences, and required training to ensure continuum and quality care


  • Registered/Licensed under the Board of Behavioral Services (BBS) or under supervision accruing hours
  • Clinical Degree (Licensed) California MFCC - LCSW required
  • Current Clinical License in good standing
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in counseling capacity with experience working with indigent populations
  • Ability to assess medical necessity for individuals seeking substance abuse treatment
  • Knowledge of American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria and ability to navigate ASAM system

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid California driver's license, insurance and reliable transportation
  • Experience and knowledge of treatment plan design and case management
  • Knowledge of drug Medi-Cal state program
  • Working knowledge of trauma informed care and motivational interviewing
