The Lead Maintenance Technician has responsibility for oversight of construction, repairs and maintenance operations for multiple sites.

Duties Include:

  • Plans and executes major repair, maintenance and construction projects
  • Supervises facility maintenance staff;  provides leadership, directs work, oversees employee performance and provides staff training
  • Directly performs various facility maintenance repairs and maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and carpentry
  • Identifies and resolves property maintenance and repair issues
  • Maintains records including but not limited to work orders, supply receipts, and other project related information
  • Works with vendors as well as program participants and/or tenants, as applicable


  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • 6+ years of experience participating in building and property repairs and upkeep as well as performing routine major and minor repairs
  • 3+ years of experience supervising staff in performance of major property and building maintenance jobs
  • 2+ years specializing in a construction specialty (plumbing, electrical, masonry, carpentry)
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and quality aspects of building maintenance
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Word and Excel required
  • Must be physically able to perform lifting of a minimum of 50lbs, squat, kneel, bend, climb, and be in good physical condition
  • Must have verification of TB clearance at the time of employment issued within 6 months of employment, and it must be renewed each year
  • Finger prints and health examination clearance is required prior to employment

Additional Preferred:

  • Must be able to understand, speak, and read effectively in English, both orally and in writing; ability to speak and understand Spanish is a plus
  • Contractor's license preferred
  • Must have a valid California driver's license with a clean driving record
