We provide a variety of social services to Los Angeles area communities such as Head Start programs, Upward Bound college prep programs, veterans’ services, homeless shelters, low-income housing program as well as drug and alcohol rehabilitation. Training to Work provides employment services in partnership with federal Bureau of Prison Residential Reentry Centers.


The Training To Work Job Developer coordinates and develops employment opportunities for 

  • Assesses potential participants for level of ability and readiness for work as well as physical and mental capabilities
  • Develops an individualized employment plan with each participant
  • Conducts comprehensive screenings and assessments to collect functional, environmental, financial, employment, housing, educational, and health information, as appropriate, to develop a case plan
  • Develops support systems to meet participant needs by identifying and coordinating available services needed to maintain independent living, self-sufficiency and family stabilization, as possible
  • Provides job readiness skills training in areas of resume preparation, interviewing and job search techniques
  • Provides career counseling and job coaching;  coordinates job skills training with participant employment plans
  • Arranges interviews with employers and works with participants on job retention issues
  • Coordinates with state, veteran, community and private employment resources to assure participant access
  • Establishes and maintains complete records as required

Required Background and Skills:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience in employment placement and vocational counseling (preferred)


  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a job developer and/or in case management services
  • Department of Labor MIS database experience or knowledge of similar database entry system
  • Must be comfortable and able to work with the re-entry (ex-offender) population
  • Must be comfortable and able to work with the homeless unemployed/under-employed population

Skills Required to Perform this Position:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Effective written and oral communications skill
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation with adequate vehicle insurances
  • Must be willing to travel 25% of the time
