Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) promotes housing stability to homeless or at–risk–of–becoming homeless Veterans and their families. The goal of the SSVF program is to provide clients with the skills necessary to maintain long term, independent living. SSVF is a short-term crisis intervention program, with services to include case management, housing and financial counseling, and assistance in obtaining benefits and services. For both individual Veterans and those with dependents.


The SSVF Housing Coordinator duties are summarized as:

  • Build and maintain partnerships and coalitions with community and government agencies
  • Coordinate, participate, and assist with community events and outreaching events
  • Document and monitor outreach progress and process through trackers and reporting logs
  • Develop, perform, and assist with workshops pertaining to veteran household needs
  • Maintain "By-Name List” of ALL literally homeless Veterans in Orange County
  • Engage community organizations to participate in efforts to end Veterans homelessness in Orange County
  • Coordinate and facilitate community meetings  
  • Prepare and implement strategic operational plans
  • Conduct screenings and provides resources to veterans in need of services
  • Search for affordable housing while building relationships with potential landlord and property managers
  • Other duties as assigned



  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience


  • At least one year of experience working with veterans, people in recovery, and/or homelessness individuals

Technology Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Skills and Abilities:

  • Valid California driver's license, insurance and reliable transportation
  • Strategic planning with analytical and problem solving skills
