HOLLYWOOD FamilySource CENTER - ERAP

A partnership with the City of Los Angeles, the Hollywood FamilySource Center shall support the COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program (“ERAP”), identifying suitable housing options for program clients, and assisting the clients achieve sustainable and healthy independent living.

JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE

The Housing Associate - ERAP shall assist COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program (“ERAP”) applicants with reviewing program eligibility, uploading required documentation, data entry, tracking status of application, and any other program related follow-up.  Part of services team for the program, the Housing Associate participates in all stages of client service: assessment, services planning, engagement and delivery.   Learns the functions of the ERAP and SNOW system.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assisting applicants through the ERAP process
    • Checking-in customers who have appointments
    • Conducting screening of documents for ERAP tenant/landlord applications
  • Clerical duties
    • Data entry
    • Scanning paperwork and uploading documents to the SNOW system
  • Attends ERAP meetings and trainings, represents program to community
  • Other tasks that may arise, necessary to complete the contract work

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance, background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications

EDUCATION:

  • Associate’s Degree in Social Services or related discipline,
  • Or equivalent combination of education and work experience (two years)

EXPERIENCE:

  • Six Months of experience in a non-profit social service program (volunteer or paid).

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of treatment plan design and case management.

TECHNOLOGY SKILLS:

  • Microsoft Office Suite, including: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; familiar with Databases.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Able to learn and navigate Los Angeles County’s affordable and subsidized housing system.
  • Able to develop relationships with the homeless, their families, and landlords, as well as a variety of service stakeholders (schools, health and public benefit agencies).
  • Strong written and oral skills in the English language, able to accurately complete required reports and data entry.
  • Able to perform basic mathematic calculations (rent, security deposits, et cetera).
  • Able to perform under circumstances of possible emotional stress and conflict, including dealing with un-cooperative clients.
  • Able to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, with or without reasonable accommodation, including meeting qualitative and quantitative productivity standards.
  • Able to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.

INTERPERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Must be able to work effectively with people from all walks of life with compassion
  • Hold a California Drivers license, with required insurance and a reliable vehicle.
