Case Manager - Sanctuary (VAS)

We provide a variety of social services to Los Angeles area communities such as Head Start programs, Upward Bound college prep programs, veterans’ services, homeless shelters, low-income housing program as well as drug and alcohol rehabilitation.   • Develop strategies with other Sanctuary staff to help identify, target, and provide support and resources for domestic victims of human trafficking
  • Conduct screenings, assessments, and development of ISPs, harm reduction and safety plans
  • Take required steps to address health, educational, vocational, recreational, social, emotional and psychological needs of each participant
  • Provide direct linkages to community support resources and services, follow up with participants with continued care
  • Provide street outreach, crisis stabilization and trauma-informed care to potential domestic labor and sex trafficking victims
  • Maintain and build partnership and coalitions with other community and government agencies providing relief of human trafficking victims
  • Participate and assist with community awareness events, including providing victim awareness and identification training to law enforcement, FBOs and CBOs
  • Engage potential victims through gateway services and contacts weekly
  • Participate with other staff members on a rotating schedule to provide immediate response for victims on a 24/7 basis; this includes close coordination with law enforcement, the NHTRC hotline, and other community providers of street outreach
  • Other duties as assigned  


  • Bachelor's Degree in social work, psychology or counseling from fully-accredited college or university; substantial experience may substitute for a college degree
  • Two years of experience working with victims of sexual abuse and/or human trafficking
  • Ability and desire to work with people from various backgrounds and/or limited English capabilities
  • Must be reliable and able to multitask
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid California driver's license and have reliable transportation
  • Ability and desire to work with people from various backgrounds
  • Survivor of human trafficking preferred
  • Bilingual preferred (Spanish)
