Case Manager (DOL Re-Entry Young Adults - Santa Ana OC)

Volunteers of America of Greater Los Angeles is a large, national not-for-profit organization founded in 1896.  We provide a variety of social services to Los Angeles area communities such as Head Start programs, Upward Bound college prep programs, veterans’ services, homeless shelters, low-income housing program as well as drug and alcohol rehabilitation.  Learn more at


The Case Manager will provide intensive strengths based case management, evidence-based practices, and linkages with mentors for enrolled participants; coordinate responsibilities with job developers; link participants with wrap-around supportive services based on the results for the ICP; and provide follow up. The duties are summarized as:

  • Manage a caseload of 20-25 clients, including screening and training adult volunteers then matching them to youth
  • Complete client assessments to determine eligibility for program
  • Meet with clients on a regular basis to establish goals, action steps, monitor, and assess progress towards achieving those goals
  • Maintain ongoing communication about our services to agencies who refer youth to our program
  • Maintain positive effective relationships with clients
  • Maintain all case files/records, all required documentation, and case notes in a timely manner or as requested
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelors' degree in social work or related field (or a combination of education and experience may be considered)
  • 2 years case management experience (or a combination of education and experience may be considered)
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Effective written and oral communications skills

Additional Requirements:

  • 1 - 3 years of experience with a diverse client base preferred
  • Experience connecting clients to resources
  • Must be willing to travel 25% of the time
  • MSW degree or related field preferred
  • Valid California Driver's license and have reliable transportation
