Volunteers of America of Greater Los Angeles is a large, national not-for-profit organization founded in 1896. We provide a variety of social services to Los Angeles area communities such as Head Start programs, Upward Bound college prep programs, veterans’ services, homeless shelters, low-income housing program as well as drug and alcohol rehabilitation.   • Develop career and vocational/ college-related resources for youth participants
  • Works individually with youth to develop career plans
  • Works in conjunction with program staff, especially instructors to ensure program success
  • Develops individualized service place for vocational training and permanent housing
  • Develop individualized career plans for students
  • Develop presentations and materials that inform students of regional academic and vocational programming.
  • Present workshops on Job readiness skills including resume preparation, interview etiquette, and professional demeanor
  • Other duties assigned



  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree or a 2 years of relevant work experience providing vocational or career training especially for youth


  • Experience with working with runaway and homeless youth
  • Effective written and oral communications skills with people from varied backgrounds
  • Proven working knowledge of Microsoft Office; ability to learn and use program-specific software
  • Valid California driver’s license and access to dependable transportation with adequate insurance
  • Must be able to pass a background check

  • Bilingual preferred(Spanish)
