About the Role

As Virtru continues rapid growth and penetration into the enterprise market, we need a hands-on product marketing manager to drive our messaging, positioning, and competitive differentiation.  This unique role combines strategic marketing and communications with tactical execution and collaboration across marketing, sales, and product management.   

In addition, the product marketing manager plays a central role in a fast moving, highly collaborative marketing group.  We work closely together as a team, leverage the latest in marketing technology, and push one another for continuous improvement and outstanding results.


Responsibilities

  • Develop & Convey Market Expertise

    • Be the expert on the buyer -- what problems are they trying to solve? Why? How do they view the status quo?  How do they view the competition?  

    • Develop buyer personas, competitive battle cards, other sales enablement materials.  

    • Develop compelling, differentiated compelling product positioning.

    • Develop clear competitive intelligence (with Product Management)

    • Develop market segmentation, sizing, and business cases.

 

  • Evangelize the Product and Enable Sales

    • Develop whitepapers, presentations videos, and other sales-ready content

  • Conduct sales training.

  • Support relationships with industry analysts and influencers

  • Coordinate with PR to develop compelling pitches for media.

  • Support Business Development & Channel Enablement initiatives

 

  • Be a Marketing Leader

    • Own the message -- ensure clear, consistent, differentiated messaging is carried in all marketing materials/program.

    • Develop content assets for use in marketing programs.

    • Coordinate product & feature launches


 

Accountabilities

  • Reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer

  • Key interfaces include Product Management & Sales

  • Is a key member of the marketing team.


 

Requirements

  • 3-7  years product marketing experience in B2B enterprise software

  • Ideally software security.

  • Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely.

  • Must be an outstanding writer, presenter, and storyteller

  • Proven to work in an extremely fast paced, highly collaborative startup environment.

  • Outstanding analytical skills; proven ability drive business results using analytical data.

  • Highly Desirable:   Fluent in trends and technology in the cybersecurity/encryption/data protection market.
