We believe that it is not enough to simply offer secure communication, you’ve got to make it easy and delightful to use. Otherwise, you’ve got and art piece, not a product/service. This is where you, as a Frontend/UX Engineer, come in.

Your job at Virtru is to empower people to communicate through easy-to-use encryption.

You should be knowledgeable about modern standards and best practices, the fundamentals of JavaScript (not just jQuery), CSS, and HTML, and have an amazing portfolio of past work.

In addition to code, you have have an interest on the visual and/or process side of UX. Perhaps you dabble in Sketch and Photoshop. Or maybe you conduct user test and derive insights from results. Whatever it is, your skillset is broad, and your goal is always to improve the user experience. You contribute in various places along the UX stack.

We might be a good match if...

You value craftsmanship.

You obsess over detail and polish. You have a depth of knowledge in various interaction paradigms along with thoughts on how to improve them. You live to make complex problems into delightful experiences.

You’ve shipped product.

You’ve weathered release cycles and know what details matter at each stage, how to motivate colleagues to get the fit and finish right, how to obtain and translate insights from user studies/anaytics into meaningful action, and what’s most likely to go awry at each stage. You can share examples of real work you've shipped, and what you learned along the way.

You can think and talk about the bottom line.

Looking through pages of metrics and analytics don’t scare you and you know which features can act as force multipliers on your company’s business model.
