About the Role

As Virtru continues to grow rapidly worldwide, we are seeking an experienced director of product marketing to help us position our products in the market.    This is a hands-on player/coach role with a strong focus on segmentation, targeting, positioning, and content development.

The successful candidate will:  1) have demonstrated success taking innovative security products to market, driving highly differentiated positioning, and developing strategic marketing plans.   2) Have proven ability to collaborate across sales, marketing, product management, and BD.
 

Responsibilities

  • Develop & Convey Market Expertise

    • Be the expert on the buyer -- what problems are they trying to solve? Why? How do they view the status quo?  How do they view the competition?

    • Develop buyer personas, competitive battle cards, other sales/partner enablement materials.  

    • Develop compelling, differentiated compelling product positioning.

    • Develop clear competitive intelligence (with Product Management)

    • Develop market segmentation,sizing, and business cases.

    • Assist in the development of partner evaluations / go-to-market plans

 

  • Evangelize the Product and Enable Sales

    • Develop whitepapers, presentations videos, and other sales-ready content

    • Conduct sales training.

    • Coordinate relationships with industry analysts and influencers

    • Coordinate with PR to develop compelling pitches for media.

 

  • Be a Marketing Leader

    • Directly supervise Product Marketing Manager (s)

    • Oversee all aspect of product & feature launch

    • Coordinate with PM/Eng on key elements of UX

    • Develop content assets for use in marketing programs.


 

Accountabilities

  • Reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer

  • Key interfaces include Product Management & Sales

  • Supervises product marketing manager (s)

  • Is a key member of the marketing team.

 

Requirements

  • 7-10 years product marketing experience in enterprise software security including leadership experience.

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely.

  • Fluent in trends and technology in the cybersecurity/encryption/data protection market.

  • Proven to work in an extremely fast paced, highly collaborative startup environment.

  • Outstanding analytical skills; proven ability drive business results using analytical data.
