The impact of chronic conditions on health care is immense: chronic diseases, including diabetes and heart disease, affect up to 1 in 3 individuals. Up to 1 in 4 people also struggle with mental health concerns. These chronic conditions drive 80% of the over $3 trillion dollars we spend on healthcare in the US.

Vida Health is working to address this need. Our goal is to help people better manage their health by making positive changes to the way they live. Using our mobile-first platform, we connect people to programs backed by research and give them one-on-one support from personal health coaches or therapists. Clients meet with their coaches or therapists using secure in-app video chat and messaging. By collecting real-time data from the client and their devices, Vida is able to guide clients’ progress over time and help them make sustainable improvements to their health.

About the role:

As our IT Manager, you will be responsible our corporate computing environment and ensuring that it operates effectively and efficiently. To be successful in this position you will demonstrate a detailed knowledge of the industry’s best practices and have a professional track record of effective technical management, information analysis, and a thorough understanding of computer hardware and software systems. With this focus, you will be key in managing our day to day IT operations, such as equipment provisioning, license management and system maintenance, as well as overseeing our wider IT strategy including vendor selection, improving cost effectiveness and enhancing our IT infrastructure. This role reports to our Enterprise Infrastructure Engineering Manager and is located in our San Francisco office.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead large IT projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems and services
  • Monitor performance of information technology systems to determine cost and productivity levels, and to make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure
  • Help define IT infrastructure strategy, architecture, and processes
  • Assess vendors and develop test strategies for new hardware and software
  • Manage the company’s internal IT assets, including provisioning and de-provisioning of equipment.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to internal IT

What would make you a good fit for the role:

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience in IT or a related field
  • At least three years of experience working in IT operations
  • Experience leading large IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies
  • Hands on experience with managing company-wide IT services such as MDM and SSO
  • Familiar with technologies like: Cisco Meraki, G-Suite Administration, Okta, Atlassian, Zendesk as well as Zoom conference rooms
  • Experience in procurement, budgeting, forecasting, and asset management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
  • Independent worker being able to single-handedly manage the IT needs of a small startup.
  • Some prior experience or knowledge of working in a healthcare environment along with understanding the requirements under HIPAA for protecting sensitive data is preferred.
