Director of Marketing

Commercial | WEST CHESTER, PA | Full Time

Job Description

Day-to-day responsibility for the strategy and implementation of the launch and marketing program(s) for the pre-launch and launch of VP-102, as well as any other Company products. Lead the development of the marketing strategy and execution for all aspects of the Company’s HCP, Consumer, Market Access, Channel Customers and Consumer/Digital platforms. Responsible for marketing development for key congresses and building relationships with KOLs and HCPs. 

Expected to work cross functionally within the Company to manage and collaborate with vendors/agencies to ensure timeliness of projects and delivering against the budget. Also responsible for the integration of marketing strategy and tactical programs with Sales and Market Access. Collaboration is necessary with other internal and external business partners, including Medical, Legal, and Regulatory. Perform any other functions as reasonably requested by the Company.


  1. Prepare and Implement Strategy for Launch of Company Products
    • Work with all internal stakeholders to develop and execute launch strategy and tactics. Gain insight and feedback from sales, market access and channel to develop tools to ensure launch success
    • Work with Senior management as needed to provide feedback and information
    • Work with both MLR and PRC review teams
    • Work with HCP and Consumer Agencies to submit materials for OPDP review and advisory comments
  2. Develop and Execute Strategy for Company’s platforms
    • Platforms include HCP, Consumer, Market Access, Channel Customers and Consumer/Digital platforms
    • Develop creatives for both professional and consumer
  3. Marketing Development
    • Build relationships with KOLs and HCPs at key congresses
    • Work collaboratively with Professional Relations and Medical
  4. Work within Company to Manage Vendors/Agencies
    • Manage the vendor partners- to ensure budget, timelines and quality of work
    • Drive the brand vision and ensure all materials are developed in a compliant way
    • Integrate internal Verrica stakeholders into the process as needed
    • Work to integrate marketing strategy and tactical programs with sales and market access.
  5. Market Research
    • Conduct studies of market response to new products
    • Testing concepts for professional and consumer campaigns
    • Competitive landscape analysis


  • Responsible for maximizing and staying within the budgetary framework
  • Measuring ROI to ensure the plan is being executed to fullest efficiency


  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Masters of Business Administration a plus
  • Successful track record in both sales and marketing
  • Successful tracker record of launching new products and opening new therapeutic categories
  • Understanding of consumer and digital based platforms
  • 15 plus years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, initiative, creativity and optimal way to position products
  • Track record and strong knowledge of successfully defining, developing, marketing of products. New product launch experience
  • And Experience in a leadership role within a multi-functional commercial organization is required Strong, team-oriented leader with excellent communication skills and the ability to influence, lead, negotiate and work effectively at all levels
