Position Summary:
The Senior Director, Trade and Distribution role will have accountability to build, manage and revise, as needed, the trade and distribution programs (3PL, specialty distributor, specialty pharmacy network, patient assistance program, and 340b program) that will direct product distribution strategies across Vera Therapeutics. The role will lead the trade and distribution center of excellence for Vera products. You will be responsible for managing the patient assistance program and 340b program services. The Senior Director, Trade and Distribution will report directly to the Executive Director, Trade Distribution, Specialty Programs and Patient Support Programs. This role will also be a key member of the Trade & Distribution, Specialty Programs and Patient Support Team.
Responsibilities:
- Create and manage the trade and distribution program and specialty pharmacy provider network.
- Responsible for the development and execution of distribution and specialty pharmacy programs/services designed to facilitate the initiation and maintenance of patient treatment.
- Assist in the development of trade and distribution strategies for optimum patient access of Vera products.
- Assist in planning, program designs development, vendors selection, and implementation of the 3PL, specialty distributor, specialty pharmacy, patient assistance program, 340b programs to ensure patient access to Vera products.
- Supervise day-to-day trade and distribution operations to ensure appropriate support across key customer interactions.
- Assist in the creation of marketing materials (patient referral form, welcome kit, HCP office resource guide, etc.) to support patient access, HCP adoption of Vera products.
- Oversee development of tools and processes to educate and inform key Vera internal and external stakeholders on trade and distribution programs including data, dashboards and stakeholder presentations.
- Work with sales personnel, HCPs, and HUB partners to monitor ongoing performance of the trade and distribution programs.
- Monitor external partner contracts/SOW to assure KPIs are defined, SLA are valid, services follow contract and SOW terms and conditions. Conduct quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with Vera contracted external partners.
- Ensure all programs are compliant and audit ready.
- Responsible for attendance of all major conventions and trade shows. Each event has specific objectives with respect to Vera’s trade and distribution programs.
- The role is responsible for adding value to Vera’s products by assisting the field personnel with patient onboarding via a HUB program and procurement via a limited distribution specialty pharmacy network.
- Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
- Minimum of 12+ years’ experience in the biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical industry
- 10+ years of trade and distribution including product launch or line extension experience
- Proven relationships and ability to create a collaborative working environment with key internal and external decision makers/partners
- External partner contract negotiation, management and compliance monitoring
- Experience in evaluating and balancing the strategic considerations between key internal functions
- Demonstrated excellence with business plan development, strategic planning, P&L management, contract proposal development, negotiation, analysis and developing strategic alliances
- Outstanding relationship building skills, communication and entrepreneurial creative skills necessary to build best in class programs and services
- Works in a highly collaborative manner ensuring that strategies, plans, and resources are aligned across Commercial and key internal stakeholders
