Position Summary:

We seek a Senior Director, Market Access & Reimbursement to join a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and collaborative team. The Senior Director will report to the Vice President of Commercial Strategy and will create and lead market access strategies and tactics that drive the successful commercialization of atacicept. This is a high-impact role where success will require the individual to develop strong cross-functional relationships in a multicultural environment, and to provide commercial leadership within a rapidly evolving organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Create payer value proposition for atacicept’s lead indication of IgA Nephropathy and refine it via feedback received from US payer advisory boards.
  • Develop and deliver pricing strategies required to maximize the pipeline of atacicept through its lifecycle.
  • Partner on labelling strategy with regulatory, clinical, and health outcomes to meet payer needs and deliver on broad and smooth market access goal for US patients.
  • Create evidence generation plan. Identify and create mitigation plans against potential risks associated with unplanned coverage restrictions, price erosion, or delays to access.
  • As atacicept approaches product launch, oversee creation and on-time delivery of value evidence resources to achieve price and US access goals, including value dossiers, budget impact models, formulary kits, and access marketing materials.
  • As atacicept approaches product launch, oversee development and execution of payer value messaging resources (branded & unbranded).
  • Update and evolve atacicept’s US reimbursement strategy and provider-channel strategy over time as new data or market-events emerge.
  • As needed, generate global market access insights including European HTA assessments or global advisory feedback.
  • Support initial planning for trade and product distribution strategies.
  • Support initial planning for patient hub and patient support services including analysis of claims, billing, and co-pay assistance programs.
  • Manage plans, internal budgets, and contracts internally and with external agency partners.
  • Partner with legal, regulatory, and medical stakeholders to ensure compliant development and execution of initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree in related field (e.g., MBA, MPH, MPA, or PharmD) preferred.
  • 10+ years pharmaceutical/biotech experience, with a minimum 5 years of market access experience including specific access experience launching new indications or new products.
  • Experience with global markets and payer environment, (e.g. HTAs, US payer coverage and reimbursement, pricing and contracting, specialty pharmacies, formulary management, health technology assessment and payment policy). Direct experience in payer negotiations desirable.
  • Strong negotiating skills and ability to develop relationships and appropriately influence all partners, ideally from local experience influencing and leading access and pricing negotiations in relevant geographic markets.
  • Ability to make clear business arguments and strategic recommendations leveraging both quantitative and qualitative evidence.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and influencing skills while addressing the needs of multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and effectively prioritize work with a sense of urgency. Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Highly skilled in partnering with teams in cross-functional matrix environments including interfacing with key internal and external groups in different regions.

The starting base pay range for this position is $275,000 per year. The exact base pay offered for this role will depend on various factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s geography, qualifications, skills, and experience.

At Vera, base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate will be eligible for an annual performance incentive bonus, new hire equity, and ongoing performance-based equity.
