Position Summary: The Senior Director, HCP Promotional Marketing Lead, will be responsible for building and executing all HCP promotional materials for atacicept. As Vera’s first new product launch, this role is integral to driving the success of the product and the company. Reporting to the VP of Marketing, this role combines strategic planning with agile execution to drive the successful launch of atacicept. This role will hire and manage a direct report (Associate Director, Marketing) who will manage Peer to Peer and Congress Marketing channels. The Senior Director of HCP Marketing will work closely with multiple teams, including Commercial, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and Project Management to develop compelling, data driven disease state education and branded campaigns that resonate with HCPs, build brand awareness and drive product uptake.

Responsibilities:

  • Hire and manage a marketer to lead Peer-to-Peer and Congress marketing materials.
  • Create and execute unbranded and atacicept-branded core and derivative promotional materials for the HCP audience to launch atacicept and establish our position within the highly competitive IgAN nephrology market.
  • Collaborate closely with field sales team (leadership and representatives) and sales training to ensure execution of marketing strategies and tactics. Support regional and national internal sales/commercial meetings to drive execution of marketing strategies and success of sales team.
  • Partner with Regulatory team to develop submission strategy and plan for core materials to comply with subpart H/accelerated approval requirements.
  • Champion the Market Launch Readiness process for HCP promotional materials, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Manage Agency of Record and other vendors ensure an appropriate balance of internal and external resources to drive campaign execution that drives ROI.
  • Provide campaign analysis and aid in marketing mix analysis, identify marketing “best practices” and help disseminate them throughout the organization. Identify areas for improvement on subsequent campaigns and materials.
  • Plan and manage all communications to the sales team from marketing.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with medical, market access, legal, regulatory, and market planning teams.
  • Manage the HCP marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
  • You will be responsible for providing leadership and mentorship on the marketing team.


Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree, MBA and/or an advanced science degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in marketing within the pharmaceutical space. Preference for those who have navigated the complexities of accelerated approval pathways, new product launch experience.
  • 5 years of Brand Management experience.
  • Experience with products under accelerated approval is preferred.
  • Experience within the nephrology space is preferred, and/or in rare disease or highly competitive marketplaces within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven track record of working effectively with regulatory, legal and medical teams in approval of multiple materials.
  • Leadership skills: proven ability to lead a cross-functional team.
  • Experience as a team/people leader.
  • Sales experience preferred.
  • Strong scientific acumen and ability to translate complex concepts.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Strong understanding of lean startup principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Outstanding project management and operational leadership.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and changing market conditions.
  • Some travel is required (up to 30%).

For this role, the anticipated base pay range is $254,000 - $278,000. The exact base pay offered for this role will depend on various factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s geography, qualifications, skills, and experience.

At Vera, base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate will be eligible for an annual performance incentive bonus, new hire equity, and ongoing performance-based equity.
