Vera Therapeutics Inc. is a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing innovative therapeutics with the potential to transform standard of care for patients with immunologic diseases.  We seek an energetic and highly skilled Director/Senior Director of Human Resources to join an experienced, fast-paced, and collaborative team. The position will manage all Human Resources functions for the company including employment, benefits, compensation, employee relations, and leadership and development.  The individual will also develop and implement Human Resources policies, programs and procedures and ensure that proper files and documentation are maintained and that the company is in compliance with applicable laws.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent Vera’s mission, values, and business objectives, and lead employee relations and communications with clarity and professionalism to all employees.
  • Take primary responsibility for Vera’s HR policies, programs, and procedures, and recommend, develop and implement updates and improvements.
  • Ensure that Human Resource files, documentation, and communications are current and comply with applicable laws.
  • Work proactively with Vera’s Executive Team to ensure the Company is able to recruit, motivate, and retain needed technical, professional, and support staff.
  • Work with Vera’s Compensation Committee to implement compensation and perform job analyses using this market data.
  • Manage the employee benefits program for the company.  
  • Build and manage Learning & Development program. Coach managers on people management skills and strategies (as appropriate) such as setting clear performance expectations, providing constructive feedback, recognizing positive results, taking correction action (where necessary) and linking compensation to performance. Identify and implement external resources and trainings as needed.

Requirements:

  • BA in Business, Human Resources, or related field. HR Certification is a plus, or combination of experience and certification.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the field of Human Resources, preferably in the Life Science industry.
  • Proven HR leader with strong people management, and strategic planning skills.
  • Experience managing the planning, development, implementation, and administration of one or more Human Resources programs in the function of employment, compensation, benefits, employee relations, or training.
  • Strong collaboration skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate clear, concise communication, good judgment, and discretion.
  • Ability to facilitate interactions and resolve conflicts.
