Job Profile


The Nursing Informatics Specialist works as part of a team to plan, design, develop, implement, and maintain the company’s clinical products.  This role acts as a liaison between customers’ clinical departments and the company’s various departments to determine needs and find solutions. Moreover, this role involves both functional and technical responsibilities in simple and complex project settings.  Performing analysis and specifications creation, providing consulting services, completing system and application configuration, and developing customized solutions are also a part of this role’s responsibilities. 




  • Act as a liaison between the customers and the company
  • Facilitate workflow sessions with customers
  • Further clinical transformation initiatives supported by the application of healthcare information technologies
  • Represent the clinical perspective of a project 
  • Assist subject matter experts in the development of business processes and the validation of processes against systems 
  • Understand customers’ business needs and translate those needs into functional requirements and specifications 
  • Conduct detailed requirements gathering sessions with customers
  • Create use cases, including wireframes and design documentation, to represent the requirements for large healthcare institutions 
  • Participate in the collection of functional requirements and the approval of business requirements being delivered with the end solution  
  • Lead the analysis of current state and future state capabilities, including user interface creation
  • Maintain knowledge of best practice standards for clinical documentation requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (preferred), Bioinformatics, a clinical discipline, or a related field
  • A minimum of 0-2 years of experience as a Nursing Informatics Specialist, clinician in a healthcare environment, or equivalent work experience
