Job Profile


The Human Resources Manager is responsible for management, communication, administration and coordination of human resources, working directly with employees and managers in the recruitment, hiring, orientation and termination processes and all other issues concerning benefits, compensation, personnel requirements, policies, procedures and safety. The Human Resources Manager will also be responsible for recommending personnel policy changes, as needed, and an awareness of employee relation areas. A person, who has a high level of motivation, has a very positive attitude, and who is able to coordinates human resources activities will excel in the position. Moreover, the right candidate will be an energetic and dedicated individual.

 

This position currently requires 15 to 20 hours per week, mostly in the office and on a consistent schedule (for example: M to TH 8:30 am to 1:00 pm).

 

Responsibilities Include

 

  • Maintaining organizational staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program
  • Counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; recommending changes
  • Keeping records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plans, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance views, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting
  • Ensuring legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements
  • Conducting investigations, maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings
  • Maintaining human resources staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
  • Contributing to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed

  • Expertise and experience with recruitment, selection, and hiring of staff at all levels
  • Excellent knowledge of employment law

Education & Experience Required
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field
  • 10+ years experience of increasingly responsible HR leadership experience, preferably with experience as the highest-ranking HR position
  • Broad experience as a human resources generalist including talent management, recruitment and retention, compensation and benefits, and leadership development
  • SPHR certification
  • Experience in a life science or healthcare environment is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills (written, verbal, listening, coaching, and facilitation)
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (especially Excel), HRIS and ADP payroll platforms
