Product Manager (Native Ethernet, IP, VOIP)

Job Description

Uniti Fiber Holdings Inc. ("Uniti") is searching for a Product Manager who will lead Uniti Fiber’s efforts in product development and management.  This position reports to the Vice President of Product Development.  The ideal candidate must be well-versed in telecom network technologies and will have shown an ability to work seamlessly within a cross-functional work environment, through building trust and respect with others.  The Product Manager must be extremely comfortable in a customer meeting and have exemplary presentation skills and will have the ability to understand a problem by completing a thorough analysis and then recommend a path forward for Uniti Fiber, whether that be developing a solution and a related business plan and process around that solution or that it is not in Uniti Fiber’s interest to develop a solution.  

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Lead effort to more formally “productize” Uniti Fiber’s existing product offerings.

  • Lead effort to define and productize potential new Uniti Fiber  products.

  • Act as a liaison between sales, technology and engineering to ensure alignment throughout product testing and introduction and document the formal process flow.

  • Conduct Market research and competitive analysis of Uniti Fibers current and planned products vs our competition.

  • Create and own, from cradle to grave, the product management of Uniti Fiber’s offerings.

    • Create and gain alignment, across all pertinent internal teams, on a process for introducing a new product to the company.

    • Ensure that any new product can be supported by Uniti Fiber’s technology, engineering and network operations teams.

    • Define the product, both in technical and practical terms.

    • Train impacted internal teams on product and process as needed, upon introduction of a new product as well as later in the product cycle.

    • Support sales teams however required.  This could include attending customer meetings to help articulate a product offering and/or its benefits to customer.

    • Create and gain alignment on a process for the ordering and provisioning of a new product order.

    • Assist in better defining the process for the ordering and provisioning of existing products.

    • Identify any missing resources – human, systems or capital – required to support the above processes.

    • Attend trade shows, read industry publications, network within industry, investigate potentially strategic partnerships.

  • Advise on future business decisions such as entering new markets within wholesale, government, education, healthcare, large enterprise spaces.  

  • Help with the continued development of Uniti Fiber’s online ordering tool which can be accessed via the company website.  Related, assist with the development and evolution of our standard service order form.

  • Travel as required to meet with customers, peers, support teams and/or management.  Target of 20% travel.

  • Perform other duties as directed by Uniti Fiber executive management team.

Uniti is open to candidates with diverse backgrounds and the ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience: At least 5+ years of direct technical product management experience.  Prefer the product management experience was related to native Ethernet, IP and VoIP technologies.

  • At least three professional references who have worked directly with candidate within last five years.

  • Education Level: College degree or higher.

  • Strong proven track record of financial analysis and reporting.
