Senior Salesforce Engineer

Job Description

The Senior Salesforce Engineer position at Unified will be the primary implementation resource on our Salesforce engagements. This person will be responsible for understanding business requirements, working with more junior technical resources to architect and build a solution and authoring project documentation. The person in this role should be a strategic thinker, mentor and have the ability to review the team’s code and challenge/inspire. Our business is growing quickly and our custom Salesforce environment is at the point where we need to rely on and apply technical best practices, including better release management. In this role, you will be responsible for defining those best practices and processes. As the primary implementation resource, you will be responsible for elevating the way we go to market with our solutions and propose new technologies as necessary. 


As a leader, you will be responsible for the growth and development of our technical resources. You’ll provide thought leadership to projects and ensure customer satisfaction and project success. You will also be responsible for setting the strategic direction and overseeing the technical team’s output to ensure quality in execution. You will represent Salesforce from a technical perspective in cross functional projects. This role will work closely with the VP of Business Operations, who oversees the Operations Managers responsible for defining business requirements on SFDC enhancements. 



Responsibilities

  • Work closely with internal teams to clarify, define, and architect technology solutions. This includes a lead role in the project discovery process, developing technical design and estimates and implementation. 

  • Define and execute Salesforce release strategy and overall roadmap for internal releases and for external Salesforce releases/updates. Responsible for evaluating potential system and downstream impacts. 

  • Successfully manage User Acceptance Testing prior to the delivery of new features and projects and define deploy strategies for effective user engagement 

  • Stay informed on technology trends and product roadmaps that may help Unified achieve project objectives

  • Advocate and implement best practice development methodology to drive quality delivery of enterprise solutions.

  • Required to be hands-on with code, to develop POCs or help more junior team members with complex coding tasks

  • Maintain project methodologies and procedures for projects, platforms, features, teams, divisions, and relevant company-wide processes,

  • Experience with most aspects of Salesforce Administration: configuration, standard data model, security, quick actions, Process Builder, Workflow Rules, Approvals etc.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Salesforce Lightning, Apex classes, Triggers, Visualforce pages, process builders, and flows

  • 4+ years of experience in a large consulting environment, filling positions of increasing responsibility and management of more junior technical resources.

  • Strong Salesforce query language skills (SOQL, SAQL) and strong ability in SQL and scripting tools like Python, JavaScript, JSON, etc.

  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming and experience leading solution designers and developers on complex, large-scale projects

  • 2+ years of experience architecting on the Salesforce core tech stack and recommending effective use of technology, including cloud technologies

  • Deep experience with business development skills, including managing and developing relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders

  • Deep experience with Agile/Scrum and Waterfall methodologies; expert at project delivery, including all aspects of program management and the SDLC

  • Expert verbal and written communication skills; able to effectively develop materials that are appropriate for the audience

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
