Tableau Admin

We are seeking a skilled Tableau Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our Tableau Server and Tableau Online environments.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in Tableau administration, database management, SQL, and BI tools, along with excellent troubleshooting and communication skills. This role will focus on ensuring the high availability, scalability, security, and performance of Tableau environments while supporting end-users with technical assistance and training.

This is an onsite job for people residing in Zürich.

Key Responsibilities:

✅ Tableau Server & Online Administration:

• Perform installation, migration, and upgrades of Tableau Servers and Desktops in a high-availability environment.

• Administer and maintain Tableau Server and Tableau Online, ensuring security, governance, and access control.

• Manage Tableau Server sites, projects, and permissions, ensuring compliance with best practices.

✅ Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting:

• Monitor system performance and perform troubleshooting to resolve issues related to data connectivity, server performance, and security.

• Optimize Tableau reports, dashboards, and server configurations for better performance.

• Provide technical support to Tableau users regarding cloud connectivity, data access, and visualization.

✅ Collaboration & Development:

• Work closely with business and IT teams to understand business needs and develop solutions for data visualization.

• Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports as needed.

• Provide end-user training and support for Tableau functionalities and data visualization techniques.

✅ Data Governance & Security:

• Implement best practices for data governance, security policies, and compliance.

• Maintain and configure Active Directory (AD) integration with Tableau Server.

• Publish Tableau workbooks and manage data extracts efficiently.

✅ Process Improvement & Upgrades:

• Identify and implement improvements in Tableau hosting and upgrade processes.

• Plan and execute Tableau software upgrades, patches, and maintenance.

• Provide regular usage reports and insights on Tableau Server performance.

Must-Have Skills:

✔ Strong verbal and written communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
✔ Expertise in Tableau Administration, including Tableau Server, Tableau Online, and BI tools.
✔ Hands-on experience in SQL, database management, and writing complex queries.
✔ Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve data integration and performance issues.
✔ Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and processes.
✔ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

✔German and English fluency is a must

Good-to-Have Skills:

➕ Knowledge of shell scripting for automation and maintenance tasks.
➕ Experience with dashboard design and data visualization best practices.
➕ Familiarity with data governance policies and performance tuning.
➕ Ability to coordinate with IT and data teams for seamless data integration.
