IT Project Manager (Windows 10)

Job Description

For an international pharmaceutical group we are looking for an experienced project manager to lead a Windows 10 rollout in EMEAR.  This role coordinates, supports, and assists all aspects of a project from original concept through the final implementation, ensuring governance process adherence, project continuity, and stakeholder management.  The successful candidate will develop project budgets and is responsible for performance against financial parameters and monitoring and reporting on projects. The position is located in Zürich or Konstanz.


Role and Responsibilities

  • Develop Project Management Plan and other necessary deliverables including WBS/Gantt Chart and RAID log mainly using Microsoft Project (primary), Excel, SharePoint, etc.

  • Work with the Windows 10 global team to proceed with this rollout and rollup information to program management

  • Work with the local stakeholders to meet the local requirements and mitigate any gaps

  • Manage dependencies with other related projects and business-as-usual activities



Requirements

  • Experience in managing/leading Windows OS upgrade/PC replacement

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English (Japanese a plus)

  • Adequate Project Management skills and Experience (PMP preferred)

  • Communication skills and experience in working across departments and countries 

  • Sufficient skills and knowledge on Windows 7 and 10 technical platforms



Accountabilities:

  • Manage all aspects of IT projects, including monitoring scope, milestones, dependencies, costs, and benefits throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Develop project budgets.  Responsible for performance against financial parameters and monitoring and reporting on projects.

  • Create project artefacts, such as project plans, measures, team and stakeholder communications, resource and time management.

  • Manage the work of project-based resources and the day-to-day interactions with vendors.  Assists with the performance reviews for project-based resources.

  • Ensure projects follow all company and departmental policies, procedures, and standards.- Identify and highlight risks and issues within the project and escalate appropriately. Devise effective mitigation and escalation strategies for projects to address risks and issues.

  • Propose governance structures and processes to drive and manage the project. Manage implementation of project management methodology and governance tools. Drive projects through project governance methodology and ensure compliance to tollgates.

  • Perform various administrative tasks and any other relevant task per request and participate in authorised on and off-site meetings and group activities.


Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Minimum 4 years of IT experience with Bachelors Degree.

  • 8 years IT experience without Bachelors Degree.

  • Minimum 2 years experience leading small and mid-sized projects.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook).

  • Experience with planning and managing all phases of system development (e.g., requirements gathering, design, configuration, development, COTS selection, testing, conversion and application support).

  • Pharmaceutical industry experience desired.
