Inventory Controller & Warehouse Coordinator

Warehouse & Facilities | Morristown, VT | Full Time, Part Time, and Temporary | From $20.39 to $25.00 per hour

Job Summary:

We are seeking an organized and operational minded inventory controller and warehouse coordinator. The primary objective for this role is to manage the daily field logistics and inventory systems for maximum efficiently. This professional works in concert with our Warehouse Manager and team leaders to ensure efficient and effective operational procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities/ Scope of Authority:

  • No supervisory responsibilities.
  • This role receives direction and authority from the Distribution & Logistics Manager. The role has the autonomy to identify deficiencies and quality of product in the warehouse for further inspection.
  • This role is an adviser to the Distribution and Logistics Manager and partners with teams lead and to manage warehouse operations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that we have an efficient, organized, and accurate inventory at our Vermont warehouse, through assistance with the creation of policies and procedures aligned with industry best practices
  • Accurately and efficiently complete all necessary paperwork in a timely manner including finished good receiving, transfers, and adjustments for both our wholesale and retail warehouses and their assigned leads.
  • Maintain current and relevant warehousing and stock control methods and procedures.
  • Ensure that all packaging and raw components are issued for production stages
  • Lead, research, identify, and present new ideas or procedures to improve warehouse operations.
  • Coordinate warehouse projects by using data collection or other methods, in alignment with current staff, to ensure on time deliverables
  • Notify proper personnel of any damages and differences for inventory control
  • Verify any quantity or quality problems and report in a timely manner
  • Perform/lead with year End Physical and cycle counts
  • Ability to cover other department resources, such as purchase order and production LOT receiving.
  • Ability to understand the Turtle Fur Group manufacturing flow and the interactions with the data entry function
  • Monitor, source and review the inventory system and processes for systematic errors/flaws for all work areas in the warehouse for inventoried and non-inventoried items
  • Perform fact-finding and troubleshooting when deficiencies are identified and identify immediate process changes when necessary
  • Analyze inventory reports and ensure the recommended best warehouse practices are followed on a daily basis for each work area
  • Assist with the labeling, database addressing and re-tooling of warehouse for each new year’s catalog
  • Overtime may be required at times
  • Comply and promote with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor.
  • Maintain and promote a clean and safe work area
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Daily progress check in with department leads
  • Reviewing department workload on daily basis for leads and manager
  • Assist with warehouse operation as a backup when the manager is not present
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • PC & Mac Operating Systems; Web Browsers; Mobile Devices & Apps; various computer mediated communication channels (e.g., Teams, Slack, Skype, Zoom, etc.)

  • Able to lift up to 35 lbs repeatedly
  • Able to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Standard business environment.
  • Bending, and reaching forward, sideways, and overhead; finger dexterity to perform functions on computer and access files; sitting for long periods at a time
