Turn is looking for a contract Technical Documentation Writer to produce training material and contextual help for its online application. The application is used by advertising agencies and advertisers to buy inventory from publishers and ad exchanges. The project is expected to last two to four months, and there may be additional work in the future as we add new features to the platform.
We need someone who is a quick learner, and is able to pick up new concepts quickly. You should have a desire to understand the application and become an expert user, and not just document information produced by engineering. We work with a complex system and fast evolving marketplace - so intellect is more important than an extensive past portfolio. If you are looking for a position that will challenge your intelligence and provide you deep knowledge on how online advertising is bought and sold, this is the job for you.
- Exposure to advertising agencies and online advertising market (display and/or search marketing)
- Ability to work independently and adapt to rapidly changing requirements
- Attention to detail, while having comfort with ambiguity
- Experience with help systems and help authoring tools and software
- Based out of the SF Bay Area
- Two or more years producing technical documentation for online software products
- Experience and/or strong desire to work in a high pressure, high demand entrepreneurial environment
- Past experience authoring online help systems and user guides
- Familiarity with wiki based content management systems
