As part of our ongoing investment in the EMEA market, Turn is looking to hire a Sales Director for the Northern European Region, working at our Hamburg office.

The Sales Director will leverage state of the art applications to assist customers in their participation in the Turn Marketing Platform. As the leader of a well-knit, cohesive Sales and Account Management team the Sales Director will work closely and collaboratively with the Business Development, Marketing Science, Sales, Product Consulting, and Product teams to close new accounts and deliver best of breed customer service and performance. The Sales Director will lead the strategy for the team, set resource allocation and foster and grow careers and development for the team.  

Responsibilities

  • Develop the Northern Europe strategy for Turn and resource allocation to deliver on goals

  • Build sustainable relationships with leading clients, media and creative agencies

  • Leverage insights from Turn to provide programmatic and audience trends  and client performance to develop solid strategic client account plans

  • Collaborate and consult with major customers with the goal of extending relationships driving new revenue streams

  • Work with Turn product experts to develop and deliver innovative creative advertising solutions for our client

  • Work cross-functionally within Turn and collaborate on projects to drive client success

  • Work closely with members of the Account Management team to ensure successful implementation of clients campaigns

  • Drive sales in Northern Europe and support the wider EMEA business

Required Skills

  • Demonstrable track record in developing relationships with direct advertisers and agencies. Highly effective in high-level client contacts (CEO, CTO, CMO, Commercial and Sales Directors, Technical Directors) but also capable to interact with Ad Operations teams (Campaign Managers, Analysts)

  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills and proven record of closing contracts within a certain timeframe

  • Self-starter capable of thriving in a start-up environment

  • Excellent presentation skills (both to large groups as well as 1 to 1)

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (both verbal and written) skills

  • Strong consultative sales skills, relationship building, and customer services skill

  • Be creative with strong problem solving skills to succeed in fast paced environment

  • Ability to develop a pipeline of clients from scratch and be highly organized

  • Proven ability to work well as part of a team with Solution Consultants, Sales Engineers, Account Managers and other internal groups to provide the best customer experience for our clients

  • Strong team management skills

Requirements

  • 10+ years of digital experience

  • 4+ years of management experience required

  • Existing knowledge of programmatic space, insights, data exchanges or performance advertising is preferred but not a requirement

  • Strong understanding of online advertising landscape trends

  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication and presentation skills

  • Experience with mobile and/or video desired

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Fluency in German and English is preferred
