Turn's new Branding Solutions Director will work with Turn's Sales, Product Management and Corporate Marketing teams to infuse our thinking, product and partnerships with the perspectives and needs of today's brand marketers.  This key role is being added to make the brand marketer's perspective part of Turn's DNA, thereby increasing our dialogue, success rate and growth with an expanded set of marketers.  This person will be the "voice of the brand marketer" inside Turn. An immediate area of focus will be consumer packaged goods (CPG) marketers, to understand how they currently use digital advertising for brand related objectives, what their needs are, and how Turn can provide them with superior solutions.  Key areas of responsibility will include developing insightful market and competitive analyses for the Sales, Product and Marketing teams; formulating product messaging and translating it into compelling sales tools and client presentations; and directing product go-to-market plans.

The ideal candidate will have firsthand experience working with a Fortune 500 CMO, likely in a digital strategy and media role.  The candidate will have a deep understanding of how digital media is planned, bought and evaluated by marketers, and of both online and offline brand-related marketing metrics.  Additional experience in a digital media agency and/or with a digital publisher is a significant plus.  While sales experience is not mandatory, a strong sense of selling and customer relationship management are extremely helpful.  

This position reports in to the VP of Market Solutions for Turn.

Responsibilities:

  • Establishing relationships with thought leading CPG marketers (both clients and prospects)
  • Developing insightful market requirement documents (MRD) to influence market goals, product strategy and pricing
  • Evaluating Turn's competitive strengths and weaknesses
  • Formulating and executing product positioning, messaging, and go to market plans
  • Creating client presentations, product collateral and other sales enablement tools
  • Representing the company at customer briefings, partner meetings and industry events
  • Interact with Turn's executive team on an ongoing basis to communicate current marketing trends and opportunities

Requirements:

  • 2+ years experience working as a digital strategist for a Fortune 500 CMO in CPG
  • 7+ years total experience in offline and digital marketing, with a specific focus on brand-related marketing metrics and media execution
  • Experience managing the marketing process for offline, direct, interactive, and social channels
  • Demonstrated ability to develop product positioning and messaging
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including experience presenting to executives
  • Proven track record in developing highly effective sales presentations and collateral
  • Prior experience in product marketing as a technology services provider to Fortune 500 brands and/or  media agencies is a significant plus
  • Strong knowledge of B2B marketing, software-as-a-service, and the digital advertising ecosystem is a significant plus
  • Demonstrated success in working within cross functional teams and effective project management and analytical/decision-making skills
  • Self-starter, high-energy, with ability to execute on business objectives
  • Strong teamwork and inter-personal skills
  • Ability to multitask, change priorities rapidly and work under pressure

Education

  • BA required; MBA preferred
