Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor of Social Work from an Accredited Social Work Program or equivalent education and experience.
Basic computer skills to include, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Products.

Role Description:

1. Reentry Services

· Assist justice-involved veterans and incarcerated individuals with pre-release planning by providing access to housing resources and application support.

· Facilitate the completion of applications for essential identification documents, including state-issued IDs, birth certificates, and Social Security cards.

· Connect individuals with employment opportunities appropriate for those with felony convictions.

· Provide transition support for service members reentering civilian life, including linkage to services, employment resources, and reintegration programs.

2. Benefits Assistance

· Guide veterans through the process of applying for VA benefits, including but not limited to disability compensation, pension programs, education funding, housing support, and healthcare enrollment.

· Act as a liaison between veterans and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) or related agencies to facilitate timely access to services.

· Coordinate and supervise Comp and Pension exams requested by the VA.

3. Community Outreach and Education

· Conduct proactive outreach to identify and engage veterans who may be unaware of or disconnected from available services.

· Educate veterans, families, and community partners on available benefits, programs, and resources through presentations, events, and one-on-one interactions.

· Develop partnerships with local shelters, hospitals, correctional facilities, and nonprofit organizations to reach underserved veteran populations.

5. Supervise / Facilitate Groups

· Supervise inmate led groups and facilitate as needed.

· Act as a liaison between outside agencies and the institution for coordinating group sessions.
