Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Social Work from an Accredited Social Work Program or equivalent education and experience.
Position Purpose:
The employee occupying this Social Worker position is assigned to the Social Service Department in the Sexual Responsibility and Treatment Program (SRTP) and provides services to 100% of that patient population. Services include both direct clinical contact, family/community agency contact, social work consultation to other professional disciplines and the patient's assigned treatment team. This Social Worker I works with a population aged 18 years and older. This position will be working in Sexual Responsibility and Treatment Program.
Description of Duties:
JOB KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
- Communicates with patients, community agencies, and families about SRTP and it's policies, procedures, etc.
- Advocates for patient rights.
- Runs group programming for individuals with sex offending histories to assist them with issues related to community readiness, social skills building and discharge planning.
- Complete monthly and annual reports
- Supervises video visits
- Attends mandatory training programs as assigned relating to working with individuals with sex offending backgrounds and/or personality disorders.
- Demonstrates knowledge of assessment, treatment and rehabilitative methods for individuals with sex offending history as well as mental health issues, IDD, Autism, etc.
- Participates in the treatment team process and fulfills duties related to communication and documentation.
- Completes required documentation in a timely fashion as defined in hospital policy/department guidelines.
- Assists patients with Sex Offender Assessment Board interviews.
- Assists with supervision (task management) of SW interns.
- Has to be trained in the proper usage of cuffs and shackles
- Transports patients to court hearings when needed
- Serves on committees as assigned
- Practices safe work habits related to fire safety and infection control
- Complies with Civil Rights/Affirmative Action Mandates
- Knows and follows hospital employee rules and regulations
- Receive and maintain certification in basic crisis intervention techniques, currently MANDT
- Receive and maintain certification and competency in CPR
Essential Functions:
- Selects, administers, scores, and interprets tests.
- Provides psychotherapy in groups and individual sessions.
- Observes, analyzes, interprets behavior.
- Develops treatment plans, behavior plans, and maintains records. Maintains professional knowledge.
- Assist staff in understanding psychodynamics/provide training. Communicates clearly in writing and orally.
- Supervises clinical psychology interns and practicum students.
- Maintains standards for psychology interships and practicum agreements.
- Receives/maintains certification in basic crisis intervention techniques (MANDT) and CPR.
