Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The Licensed Forensic Psychologist is responsible for psychological services
  • This includes clinical program development and implementation as well as consultation with other staff.
  • Provide direct care relative to psychological services to patients.
  • Professional's work in psychological services is carried out under the clinical and administrative supervision of the Director of Psychology.
  • Perform duties as assigned in reference to the implementation of treatment planning, competency restoration, and competency evaluation.

Role Description:

  • This position performs independent and specialized work in clinical, vocational, rehabilitation, educational, and habilitation areas of the psychological services program. Work includes, but may not be limited to the following:
  • Selects appropriate psychological tests; testing, interpreting and diagnosing an individual's psychological service's needs; collaborating with psychiatric or medical services and in accord with professional and supervisory guidelines
  • Selects, administers and interprets intelligence, neuropsychological, social development, achievement, competency, interest, personality and other projective/objective psychological tests to diagnose individual psychological disorders and formulate plans for their psychological treatment.
  • Collaborates with psychiatric and/or medical services staff.
  • Participates in planning, developing, implementing and coordinating individuals' psychological treatment programs, competency restoration, and competency evaluation.
  • Provides consultations.
  • Conducts individual and group therapies with and without multidisciplinary staff.
  • Evaluates patient progress and adjusts psychological treatment plans.
  • Serves as coordinator of a multidisciplinary treatment team with responsibility to oversee development of comprehensive treatment plans for individuals.
  • Evaluates an individual's psychological strengths and weaknesses through various means including reviewing medical and social case histories, personal interviews, and observation of the individual's behavior, emotional, and physical condition.
