Job Description

Market & Technology Analyst

Duties:

Research the latest information technology (“IT”), intelligent transportation systems (“ITS”), and new technology trends spanning multiple technology and industry verticals, including automotive technologies that include ITS and Adaptive Safety technology.  Assist in business modeling new technology discoveries within and beyond the automotive industry for new products and services for the future Toyota.  Act as a technical liaison on research findings and analysis with management both in the United States and in Japan, combining automotive and technology expertise with academic training to communicate research findings and analysis recommendations.  Research the latest developments in consumer electronics, robotics, drones, smart home technology, wearable technology, 3D printing, virtual/augmented reality and 3D audio/video technology, and assess their applicability and values to future new transport ecosystem-oriented applications.  Research on new modes of transport, including car sharing, ride sharing, transport infrastructure, Vehicle-to-Infrastructure/Vehicle-to-Vehicle/Vehicle-to-Pedestrian technology, mobile network technology (3G-5G, DSRC, Wi-Fi, BT, etc.), to contribute to the company's goal of establishing best-of-class safety applications for Toyota’s attempt to "zeronize" road fatalities and "maximize" travel efficiency.  Assist the company write and publish research articles.

Requirements:

Master's degree in Business Administration, Management, Information Science or a related field, and 2 years of research experience examining new technology trends in multiple technologies and industry verticals.

This position also requires industry experience that must include: (1) Conduct research and analysis as an industry insider; (2) Conduct data analysis on new technology and product development in the automotive and other industries; (3) Possess working knowledge of market research and data analysis tools including mTAB, DataFox and Tableau; (4) Possess technical writing and editing skills for professional technology publications and presentations; (5) Conceptualize and develop marketing strategies for new technology products for product innovation; (6) Engage in data analytics and related market evaluation for forecasting impacts on business and service models; (7) Engage in research and analysis on the future of Electric Vehicles; and (8) Organize and conduct global consumer surveys and interviews to define technology requirements for future products and provide market insights.
