Data Operations Engineer

Engineering | San Francisco, CA | Full Time

Job Description

About Us:

We help real estate teams drive peak performance with a cloud-based platform that helps automate, accelerate, and align the day-to-day financial and operational management of real estate portfolios. The result is an organization that moves faster, adapts quickly, and stays ahead of the competition.

As a Data Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for running, monitoring, and helping improve our data pipeline, and performing quality assurance on the data. You will work directly with our Data and Client Success teams to ensure that data is transformed in a manner consistent with our defined process; ensure the integrity and auditability of the resulting data; and suggest and help implement improvements in workflows. You will have exceptional analytical and communication skills and thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, and occasionally ambiguous environment.

  • Execute the steps to run the data pipeline and troubleshoot when needed
  • Perform quality control on imported data
  • Maintain and improve the documentation describing the process
  • Manage daily workload based on defined tasks and deadlines and proactively communicate delays that could impact client timelines
  • Collaborate with Data and Client Success teams to identify and document process improvements, and work with the Data team to implement the changes

  • 2+ years of experience as a software engineer
  • Proficient in at least one scripting or programming language such as Python (preferred), Ruby or PHP
  • Proficient with SQL and database concepts
  • Proficient with command-line tools and shell scripting
  • Excellent problem solving, communication, organization and time management skills

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with real estate finance (MRI, Yardi, RealPage) or enterprise accounting systems (SAP, Lawson)
  • Comfortable with ambiguity; you enjoy figuring out what needs to be done—and then doing it
  • Kind and intellectually mature

  • Remote work option, benefits and stock options
