Engineering Manager, Gaming

WithMe is looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead a product development team delivering a new product blending social with gaming developed using the Unreal Engine. The ideal candidate is a hands-on Manager who is excellent at delivering great software, sharing their knowledge, mentoring engineers, and is proficient at software architecture and design. Your passion for creating a delightful and fun product is supported by a deep understanding of game and mobile development and a curiosity for exploring new technologies.
You have excellent communications skills to speak in technical terms with game, mobile, and backend engineers as well as in non-technical terms with your coworkers in Product, Program Management, Art, Design, and Quality Assurance.
Attract and mentor strong engineers to join you
Provide technical direction, mentorship, and career development to engineers on the team
Deliver the product to support iterative learning. Continually ship product updates to test product hypotheses and direction to bring insights back into planning and product design
Foster a strong engineering culture of engineering excellence
Evolve and tune engineering processes
Computer Science degree or equivalent practical experience
3+ years of engineering management experience
5+ years of C++ development experience delivering games or mobile apps.
Excellent problem-solving skills, including gathering requirements and applying them to a cohesive software design.
Excellent communication skills.
A firm grasp of fundamentals including object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis
Applied understanding of resource constraints including memory, gpu, battery life, network availability, and other mobile-specific issues.
Experience in an agile work environment
Firm grasp of game, app, and UI architecture
Experience with Unreal Engine 4
Experience with iOS or Android development in C++, Java, or Objective C
Experience integrating with Mobile SDKs into a game engine
Experience using data to inform decisions across product and technology
Shipped one or more games on mobile platforms
