VP of Engineering

VP of Engineering: Direct the company’s software engineering operations, from managing multiple teams of
software developers to designing long-term strategies to enhance the overall software development process.
Coordinate the software engineering teams’ operations and establish a chain of command in order to ensure
that the design, implementation, and enhancement of backend systems and underlying APIs proceeds
smoothly. Review project goals, scope, and timeline created by team members and leverage knowledge of
Erlang, Redis, Cassandra, ElasticSearch, RESTful API, AWS S3, Unix, Git, GitHub, JIRA, Java, C++, C#,
ASP.Net, Objective-C, Node.JS, and Angular.JS to direct them in translating project specifications into code.
Conduct meetings with team members on a regular basis to remain apprised of project progress and ensure
that deliverables will be completed in a timely manner. Oversee tests to evaluate the interface between
hardware and software and direct software developers in troubleshooting existing code, debugging programs,
and modifying existing architectural structure to increase efficiency. Prepare and administer training budget.
Conduct evaluations of team members’ performance and make final decisions regarding promotions and
dismissals. Assess the company’s organizational needs and hire new software engineers as necessary. Stay
abreast of technological advances and industry trends with a view to identifying necessary enhancements to
existing applications and initiating the development of new software products and services. Will supervise 23
Requirements: The position requires a Master’s in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, plus 3 years
of progressive experience in software engineering. This may be substituted with a Bachelor’s in Computer
Science or Computer Engineering, plus 5 years of progressive experience in software engineering. Equivalent
foreign degrees are accepted. The position requires skills and knowledge in Erlang, Redis, Cassandra,
ElasticSearch, RESTful API, AWS S3, Unix, Git, GitHub, JIRA, Java, C++, C#, ASP.Net, Objective-C, Node.JS,
and Angular.JS. The position requires little travel – 24% of work time several days but less than 60 days per
