TITLE:                Data Analytics Engineer
REPORTS TO:   Vice President, Business Intelligence

The Data Analytics Engineer will create big data solutions that collect, analyze, and report on vast amounts of data originating from secured real-time messaging to enable data driven decision-making capabilities for business. The data engineering team also focuses on making both real-time and aggregate data available to power a host of customer facing applications.


What You’ll Own:

  • Understand and analyze the business requirements and devise optimal data solutions. These solutions include (not limited to) building data pipelines, data collection and integration from multiple sources, data aggregation and reporting/analytics
  • Enable teams (product, sales and marketing) to make data driven decisions by providing reports and analytics
  • Understand both business and data architecture and apply the learning to solve business problems
  • Build and scale data pipeline to handle 10x the data volume
  • Make meaningful contributions toward the next advances in big data

What You’ve Accomplished:

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related discipline (MS a plus)
  • Minimum of 5+ years developing production grade software with previous experience working on a large-scale distributed systems.
  • At least 2 years of experience using big data systems and/or using big data for data analysis.
  • Experience with all aspects of the data integration life cycle. Source system analysis, ETL development and data model/structure design.
  • Experience with Hadoop/Pig/Hive and relational database such as MySQL.
  • Strong programming/scripting experience – Must have: Java, Map/Reduce, SQL. Good to have : Python/Perl/Shell.
