Job Title: IT Instructor

Start Date: Training to start immediately for courses beginning January 2018

Location: Stride Center HQ, 1212 Broadway, Suite 400, Oakland, CA 94612 Positions available in Oakland, Santa Clara, San Jose and San Pablo

Reports to: Training Manager

Employment Classification Type: Part-time, non-exempt

Compensation: 22.00-25.00/HR DOE 

Personality:

  • Self-driven, results-orientated with a positive outlook and focus on quality instruction
  • A natural planner who critically assesses own performance
  • Mature, credible, and comfortable in dealing with senior management
  • Reliable and an effective communicator
  • Must be able to motivate students for maximum success

Professional requirements:

  • Must be mature and domestically secure
  • Reliable and able to work flexible hours on occasions when required
  • Must be able to communicate well in person, phone and in writing
  • Must be professional and businesslike

Minimum qualifications:

  • Candidate must have Industry certifications e.g. CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft, Cisco for the pertaining course
  • At least two years teaching experience is preferred
  • Ability to create effective lesson plans
  • Manage student data-tracking database
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse population
  • Effective communication skills
  • Must be willing to travel and have reliable transportation

Must have experience with the following:

  • Configuring and troubleshooting hardware and software 
  • Configuring and troubleshooting the desktop and user environments
  • Active Directory
  • File Permissions and File Sharing
  • Microsoft Office Applications

Classroom training:

  • Provide student materials
  • Conduct lectures and lab exercises
  • Track student attendance
  • Develop daily lesson plans
  • Enforce student policies (e.g. dress code, attendance, classroom protocol and culture)

Preparatory Responsibilities:

  • Document classroom activities
  • Prepare daily lesson plans
  • Track student activities
  • Create monthly student evaluations
  • Participate in weekly instructor’s meetings
