Social Content Intern (Sports)

Audience Development | Anywhere | Internship | From $16.00 to $20.00 per hour

Job Description

Founded in 2008, ThePostGame is a full-scale content production and distribution studio focused on Sports and Lifestyle. We work regularly with major sports leagues, leading television networks, prominent sports sponsors and top talent.

We are seeking a creative, sports-savvy intern to help grow a newly launched social channel celebrating the human side of sports: inspiring stories, meaningful connections and moments that remind us why sports matter beyond the game.

We are looking for someone who follows sports closely and is excited to tell the stories behind the athletes, teams, fans and moments that bring people together. You’ll help shape content across social platforms (currently Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube Shorts), from identifying stories and writing scripts to creating videos and publishing posts.

This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in modern sports content, work directly with an experienced team connected across the sports industry and help build a new social brand from its early stages.

What you’ll do

  • Find compelling stories and pitch content ideas with strong hooks and a clear sense of what will resonate on social.

  • Research stories, verify facts and source relevant photos and video.

  • Write short video scripts, on-screen copy and social captions.

  • Help edit and assemble social videos.

  • Schedule and publish posts, monitor engagement and use performance insights to inform future content.

  • Provide regular weekend coverage, including identifying timely stories and helping keep the accounts active.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong sports knowledge and a genuine interest in sports storytelling.

  • Clear, concise writing skills and strong attention to detail.

  • Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube Shorts.

  • An understanding of what makes people stop scrolling, watch and share.

  • Video editing experience is a strong plus, particularly with tools such as CapCut or Adobe Premiere Pro.

  • Experience with AI tools to support research, brainstorming, writing or video production, paired with sound editorial judgment and a commitment to fact-checking.

  • Reliability, initiative and the ability to work independently while collaborating with a small team.

  • Weekend availability is required. Specific hours and coverage expectations will be agreed upon in advance.
