Kitchen Lead

Job Description

The Caviar Co. seeks a highly motivated and skilled Chef to join our team! We are looking for an individual who is passionate about caviar and is committed to delivering an exceptional culinary experience to our guests.

We have a small garde manger kitchen where caviar flights and small caviar-centric dishes are prepared for a 37-seat (patio included) restaurant. While the focus is caviar, we have a carefully curated Champagne list that brings together the familiar, the fun, and the finest champagne and sparkling options from California, France, and beyond.

Our Champagne Lounge and Caviar Tasting Room is located in the heart of downtown Tiburon. Hours of operation are Wednesday - Saturday, 12:00 pm - 7:00 pm, and Sunday, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm. https://thecaviarco.com/pages/tiburon

The ideal candidate has a strong BOH background and experience or interest in FOH service and restaurant operations. As we grow our restaurant concept, this role will evolve—offering exciting opportunities for long-term growth.

Responsibilities Overview:

You will run the day-to-day BOH operations of our Tiburon Champagne Lounge and...

  • Execute our menu of caviar bites and flights, and create new and innovative caviar-centered dishes.

  • Ensure that food is prepared to the highest quality standards and that all health and safety regulations are followed.

  • Manage daily and weekly inventories and ordering while minimizing waste.

  • Work with the General Manager to monitor and control food costs, ensuring that they are within budget.

  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and ensure that all equipment and supplies are stored properly.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with the Marketing and Events teams on special events, initiatives, and experiences, including off-site events and culinary collaborations.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of kitchen experience

  • Knowledge of fine dining style, service, and attention to detail

  • Strong culinary knowledge and food preparation techniques

  • Knowledge of wine and Champagne is a plus

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Self-starter with the ability to identify and manage opportunities for continuous improvement

  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and food handling practices

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

  • Must have a current ServSafe Certification

  • Basic computer skills and the ability to work in Google Spreadsheets

  • Must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work standing on your feet for at least 8 hours per day

  • Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds

  • Must have color vision and depth perception for food preparation and food presentation

  • Must be able to grasp, seize, turn, reach, and hold objects with hands
