About this Role
Under the supervision of the Senior Accountant, the Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for processing full cycle accounts payable for multiple entities in an accurate and timely manner. Ensures adherence to policies and procedures and governing agency regulations and standards.
Basic Qualifications
Associates degree in accounting or related area or equivalent combination of education/experience
Minimum two years’ accounting experience in a multiple entity accounting environment
Public company accounting experience
Advanced Quickbooks, Excel skills desired
Ability to organize, track and manage a variety of concurrent activities and projects
Strong organizational, time management, analytical, problem solving skills
Adaptable, able to manage shifting priorities effectively
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Strong, proactive written and verbal communication skills
Self- directed and able to work independently as well as an effective part of a team
Demonstrated success managing detail
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in the cannabis industry highly desirable
SOX exposure desired
Accounting experience in CPG wholesale/manufacturing/retail companies, and highly regulated industries preferred
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Perform full cycle AP processes for multiple entities and multiple business segments
Become the direct resource for the Apothecarium Group accounts payable requests
Review, obtain approvals per DOA, with required support and coding of vendor invoices
Review all invoices to ensure approval and appropriate documentation
Lead general vendor relations, including maintenance of vendor database in QuickBooks, and new vendor set up protocols, including W-9s from new vendors and other compliance related documents
Perform accurate and timely processing of invoices, expense reports and credit cards transactions
Prepare batch check runs, wire transfers and ACH transactions
Review of accounts payable aging reports, and follow up as appropriate regarding payment of old invoices
Reconcile vendor accounts monthly and respond to vendor inquiries
Maintain vendor records and files
Prepare any necessary journal entries related to accounts payable transactions
Assist with status reports, accruals, GL reconciliations and monthly closing activities
Produce periodic and ad-hoc financial reports for management on certain expense line items as needed
Review and reconciliation of vendor and inter-company statements and address non-current balance timely
