Job Description
Summary: The Accounting Supervisor supervises accounting staff in the day to day operations of accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, ledger maintenance, revenue and asset accounting as well as associated analysis and reporting and multiple business units.

- Participate in regular financial and tax audits
- Organize financial data into useable information and maintain updated records
- Track the progress of financial and accounting objectives
- Track expenditures and variances and take corrective measure as needed
- Audit transactions to approve ledger entries
- Keep sensitive information confidential, and follow internal measure for financial security
- Identify ways to streamline accounting operations and ways to improve the department
- Ensure regulatory compliance
- Monitor the daily performance of A/R and A/P
Education/Training/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; Masters Degree and/or CMA or CPA preferred. 7+ years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles, laws, and regulations
- Experience with accounting software
- Excellent analytical skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to explain complex financial data in clear, straightforward language
- Strong management and leadership skills
Skills:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software and Oracle accounting software.
- Ability to apply advanced college level mathematical concepts relative to this position.
